National Legal Services Day

Legal Services Day is observed every year in India 9th November. It is observed to lay emphasis on legal literacy and increase legal awareness amongst the masses especially those who live in far off areas and where literacy and more importantly Legal Literacy is lacking. According to the President, Supreme Court Bar Association, the main objectives of celebrating Law Day is to recognize the important principles which formed the basis of the Constitution. GIET, Baniatangi  in association with Legal Services Committee Civil Court, observed National Law Day on Saturday. Shri Digamber Prusty, Hon'ble Judge Family Court graced the occasion as a Chief Guest,  in his address he spoke on the importance of the day and mentioned the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as the chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee and Dr. BN Rao as the advisor to the Constituent Assembly. He also enunciated the pivotal role of the Constitution for fulfilling democratic ideals and stressed upon the responsibility the constitution has cast on the citizens of India. To mark the occasion, an oath was administered to the staff and students in tune with the spirit of the Constitution of India.
