Admission Procedure

DISCIPLINE & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

As per the guidelines of State Government candidates seeking admission under Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha should have a valid rank in JEE (Main)/OJEE/MAT/CAT/XAT/CMAT/GATE/DET or any other entrance test prescribed by Govt. of Odisha for admission to the respective course.

ADMISSION TO 1ST YEAR DEGREE COURSE IN ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY

Valid rank in JEE (Main) & Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE or equivalent, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology/Computer Science/IT or any technical vocation course. Should obtain at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together.

ADMISSION TO 2ND YEAR DEGREE COURSE IN ENGINEERING/ TECHNOLOGY (LATERAL ENTRY)

DIPLOMA (LE):-

Valid Rank in OJEE. Passed or appearing in 2014, in three year diploma examination (two year in case of Lateral entry Diploma) in Engineering from State Council of Technical Education and Training (SCTE&VT), Odisha or from an AICTE approved Institute / from a recognized University as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology.

B. SC. (LE):-

Passed or appearing for the Bachelor's Degree examination of three years duration in Science from any University of Odisha or from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to ST/SC category) and must have passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.

The native of Odisha as well as the outside state candidates who have prosecuted their study for the qualifying examination in an Institute in Odisha having approval from the competent authority are eligible for admission under Lateral Entry.

ADMISSION TO M.C.A. COURSE

It is a two years course and valid Rank in OJEE. Passed or appearing for the Bachelor's Degree examination of minimum three years duration in any discipline from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognized by UGC and having passed in Mathematics at 10+2 level (Business mathematics at +2 level are not permitted). Should obtain at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) at the qualifying examination

ADMISSION TO M.B.A. COURSE

It is a two year course and valid Rank in OJEE/CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT. Passed or appearing for the Bachelor's Degree examination of minimum three years duration in any discipline from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognized by UGC. Should obtain at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) at the qualifying examination.

ADMISSION TO 1ST YEAR MASTER DEGREE COURSE IN ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY (M.TECH)

Valid Rank in OJEE (PGAT) / qualified in GATE. Passed or appearing in 2021, Bachelor's Degree of examination in the relevant field from any University of Odisha or from an AICTE approved Institute or from a recognized University as defined by UGC. The candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) at the qualifying examination.
