International day for elimination of violence against women

The Women Harassment and Prevention Cell of this institution has joined in a campaign with aims to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls around the world, calling for global action to increase awareness, promote advocacy and create opportunities for discussion on challenges and solutions. It started on 25th November, on the International day for the elimination of violence against women.   Joined as Chief Guest on this occasion Hon'ble Retd Justice of Odisha High Court Dr Sanju Panda sparked the global mobilization creating a moment of urgency in preventing and responding to violence against women and girls.   This program is nicely organized by the convener of WHPC  prof.Sulochana Das & Dr.Smrutirekha Das the Convener club & committees of this institution.  Around 200 lady faculty and staff members and girl students have joined the occasion and actively participated in the campaign. This awareness by GIET will definitely help girls and women to remove the obstacles to construct an inclusive and sustainable society. Prof. Aishwarya Lenka of this institution actively hosted this beautiful program.
